The Teacher’s Alphabet

This teacher’s alphabet will help you develop leadership and listening skills. Study the list, memorize the letters, but most of all exemplify the points in teaching children.

A — Always be well prepared.
B — Believe God will work through you.
C — Care about the individual chile.
D — Do give opportunities to receive Christ.
E — Enjoy your children.
F — Fight the good fight of faith.
G — Get enthusiastic about your lesson.
H — Hear questions and remarks but don’t lose control.
I — Invite them to the next class.
J — Just remember you are teaching by your life.
K — Kid a little but do it wisely.
L — Love each child and let him know it.
M — Memorize Scripture.
N — Never make fun of a child.
O — Openly share some of your life experiences.
P — Pray for each child by name.
Q — Quickly forgive mistakes of children and staff.
R — Remember you were once a child, too.
S — Study your methods of teaching and evaluate them.
T — Tell your lesson or story—don’t read it.
U — Understand that children come from different backgrounds.
V — Visit the homes of the children.
W — Wait for the Lord to work in hearts.
X — Exercise discipline—be in control!
Y — You are one of a kind—be yourself when teaching.
Z — Zero in on the lesson objective.
